What this lesson covers

A chart is the only record you have of what buyers and sellers agreed to, and reading one properly is a skill in its own right. This lesson covers the three chart types traders rely on. Line charts show the closing path and little else, which makes them useful for seeing the broad direction. Bar charts add the open, high and low. Candlesticks show the same four prices in a form that makes buying and selling pressure visible at a glance, which is why most traders use them. The lesson explains what the body and the wicks are telling you, how to spot trends, ranges and reversals from structure alone, and how timeframes change the story a chart tells about the same market.
