What this lesson covers

Two traders can use the same strategy and end up in very different places depending on whose money is at stake. This lesson compares trading a personal account with trading firm capital across the things that actually decide outcomes: how much capital you can put to work, what happens when you lose, how quickly the account can grow, and what rules you agree to live under. Trading your own money gives total freedom and no external rules, but growth is limited by what you can afford to fund and lose. Funded capital removes that ceiling and adds structure, at the cost of drawdown limits and objectives you must respect. The lesson helps you judge which model suits your goals, your temperament and your current stage.
