What this lesson covers
Chart patterns are recurring shapes that appear because traders keep behaving the same way in the same situations. This lesson covers the patterns worth knowing and, more importantly, the reasoning behind them. Reversal patterns such as head and shoulders, double tops and double bottoms are covered alongside continuation patterns including flags, pennants and triangles. For each one the lesson explains what the participants are doing while the shape forms, which is what turns a pattern from a picture into information. It then moves to the practical side: where to enter, where the stop belongs, how to manage the position as it develops, and what invalidates the setup. Additional written resources are provided so the patterns can be reviewed away from the lesson itself.
