What this lesson covers
Economic releases create the fastest and largest moves in the currency market, which makes them either an opportunity or the reason an account is lost, depending entirely on preparation. This lesson covers which events actually matter, including interest rate decisions, inflation prints, employment reports and central bank commentary, and why the market's reaction depends on expectations rather than the number itself. It then covers the three ways to approach a release: positioning before it, trading the reaction during it, and waiting for the move to settle and trading what follows. Risk control is treated as the central issue, since spreads widen and slippage is common. The lesson is equally clear about when the correct decision is to stay out entirely, particularly on a funded account.
