What this lesson covers
This lesson walks through the risk and reward spreadsheet used to judge whether a strategy is ready for live trading. It is the tool that answers a question most traders guess at, which is when backtesting has produced enough evidence to justify risking real money. Daniel explains each part in turn, working from the first phase through to the later ones, and shows how the numbers describe your strategy rather than simply recording it. Expectancy, the size of the losing runs the system produces and the effect of your money management all become visible once the trades are entered. The point is to reach a position where you can say the strategy works and the risk model is clear, with the results in front of you rather than a feeling.
