What this lesson covers
Before covering the mechanics of the PT with the six question mark, this lesson sets out what the backtesting has actually shown: what works, what does not, and why the strategy has developed the way it has. Daniel makes the point that reaching level two implies a particular attitude, which is the constant search for better ways to improve the method rather than acceptance of it as finished. The historical material gives context for the decisions built into the current version, including the approaches that were tried and discarded. Knowing why a rule exists, and what happened when it was absent, is what makes a trader keep to it during the periods when it appears to be costing them.
