What this lesson covers
Most traders never decide who they are as a trader, and the market decides for them. This lesson deals with trader identity: the settled sense of what you do, what you do not do, and what kind of trading is yours. Without it, traders switch strategies after every losing run, take positions that belong to somebody else's method and allow the mood of the session to set their risk. The lesson shows how identity drives behaviour more reliably than rules do, because a rule is something you follow and an identity is something you are. It works through defining yours deliberately, aligning it with your strengths and your life, and reinforcing it through the way you act rather than the way you intend to act.
